Through her extensive professional career which spans academia, government and the not-for-profit sector, Dr Kay Pearse acquired skills in the following areas:
Writing, research and communication – preparation and/or editing of briefing material, reports and submissions on complex policy and technical issues. Expertise in strategic communication, feasibility studies and social research projects.
Strategy and policy – experience in development and implementation of strategy and policy in a diverse range of public policy areas including health and disability, natural resources, mines, energy, body corporate and community living, eHealth and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander issues.
Community engagement and development – experience in working with mainstream and marginalised communities using formal and informal social networks, social media and outreach.
Leadership – experience in senior positions in community organisations and in Government. Board leadership of not for profit organisations particularly during periods of uncertainly and change.
